What is the significance of folders (prefixed with jetty) created while using in built SVN

I am trying to use the in built SVN from Matlab. I see that there are some folders created prefixed with jetty. Although there is no content in these folders, I would like to make sure that deleting these folders wouldn't cause any problems in my projects. Can anyone help? Thanks.

It appears to have something to do with the jetty web server, but I do not know the connection between the two.

What is the jetty web server? These annoying folders keep appearing and as far as I know I'm not doing anything to create them.
