Export protected model to a previous version

Hello,
I have a model that I want to protect and share with a customer, the model is part of a project and has some dependecies (data dictionaries, reference subsystems). I'm using Matlab 2025b the customer Matlab 2024b.
Is there a way to protect a model and its dependencies in a previous release?
The only way I found theoretically (I have still to try it) is to export the whole project in the previous release and generate the protected model from it... but seems quite cumbersome. Alternatives?

Hi Alex,
Please see this documentation link for information on protected models in different releases:
While it is possible to use a protected model created in a previous release (e.g. use a protect model from R2024b in R2025b), it is not possible to use a protected model created in a newer release (e.g. use a protected model from R2025b in R2024b).
Unfortunately, the approach you've mentioned is the best workaround.
