Cannot install Symbolic Math Toolbox.

I'm trying to install Symbolic Math toolbox, and I'm getting a message:

"Errors

• Your license data needs to be updated. Contact us to complete this purchase."

I'm a home user so when I tried to contact it said I do not have extended support. I just want to buy symbolic math toolbox and install it.

I predict that the problem is that you do not have R2024b and you do not have current Software Maintenance Service, and you attempted to buy the current Symbolic Math Toolbox for R2024b. You need to buy Symbolic Math Toolbox for the latest release you are entitled to install.

If your version of MATLAB is "new enough" then contact Sales to purchase Symbolic Mathematics Toolbox for your active release. The policies about what "new enough" is are not clear; I had the impression that Mathworks allows purchases up to two releases back (so if you had R2023b when R2024b is current then the purchase would be accepted, but not if you had R2023a.)

Otherwise, Mathworks requires that you pay retroactive Software Maintenance Service for up to 4 years to catch your license up to the current release to be permitted to purchase a toolbox.

If your last entitlement is more than 4 years ago, then you would need to re-purchase your MATLAB license(s).
