I am unable to successfully pass data in a multiwindow app. Can someone help me understand where I am going wrong?

I created a simple app with the goal of learning how to pass data inside a multiwindow app. The intent was for the numeric field in maingui to display values entered into the numeric field in menugui once the OK button was hit. I tried my best to follow the tutorial video Share Data in Multiwindow Apps, but it's not working as advertised.

If someone with more experience here can help me find where I went wrong, I would be forever grateful.
