Multiple licenses, multiple file installation keys, which one to use

Hi,

We have two licenses under one master licenses. One license is a NNU option, the other a Concurrent. These different licenses do have different file installation keys. Which one should we use? Or does it not matter?

The license distribution is regulated with the license and options files on the server anyway. And the server to check out licenses from is described in the local network.lic file.

NNU or Network Named User Licensing :

• Under this type of license, a specific list of usernames is provided, with each username usually allocated to one individual.
• Users with valid credentials can log in and use MATLAB or Polyspace products at any time.
• Multiple users with valid credentials can log in and use the software simultaneously.

Concurrent License :

• This type of license provides a specified number of license keys that can be allocated on demand.
• Typically used in a network setting, it allows anyone on the same network to access the products.
• Users check out a license key when they start MATLAB or use other products.
• When all the keys for a specific product are checked out, the network license manager denies further requests.

In summary:

1. NNU licenses are suitable when you know who will be using the product for a specific period, and each user has their own credentials.
2. Concurrent licenses are suitable when users of the product frequently change, and licenses are allocated on demand.
