Code protection in deployed standalone application

Hello,

I was trying to build a secure standalone app for my project using appdesigner, however, when I navigated to the folder where the associated files added during deploying the app are present, I could find the .mlapp file and all the associated .m files inside it. Though when I opened an .m file, the codes/contents where encrypted, I was wondering how secure the deployed standalone apps are, and whether the functions can be somehow decrypted?
