Clickable edges of matlab graph

Hello,

I am interested in adding interactivity to a directed graph. I would like the user to be able to click on an edge on a plotted graph, which will be used to call functions with the two nodes that the edge connects as inputs. However, I am unable to find any part of the graph or plot properties that has X and Y coordinate data for the edges, which I would compare against the coordinates generated from the user click. Is this something that exists?

Unfortunately not, the graph and all its edges will be plotted on a single axis. Let me clarify my question a little bit: my graphs will look something like the attached image.

Without going into too much detail about the underlying class that the data is sourced from, the plot is composed of multiple instances of the matlab function digraph. The directed graph is composed of three vectors: reference nodes, target nodes, and edge weights. The length of these vectors is equal to the number of edges on the graph. The command I use to plot the graph is as follows:

connGraph = digraph(refNodes, targetNodes);

plot(connGraph, 'LineWidth', edgeWeights, 'Layout', 'layered', 'MarkerSize', 1, 'ArrowSize', 10);

I have no idea what is going on under the hood when you plot a graph, and how matlab decides to paint the edges. I was wondering if anyone can help me find a way to find how the lines are drawn: if they always drew straight lines, this would be a simple algebra problem because I know the coordinates of the nodes. However, the layered layout is the preferred visualization method since it represents the data the best of the available options.

Unfortunately there isn't any interface to get the edge coordinates of a GraphPlot object. I have made a note of your need for such a feature.
