Is there a way to turn off the slider in simbiology text boxes? They are ugly and worse than useless if you are using the text boxes for labels.

What the summary said. At some point, Mathworks added sliders to the Simbiology text boxes. So models I created a while back and were caerfully formatted come up as looking crude, ugly, and unpolished. This addition has destroyed some of my careful work and the crude appearance undercuts confidence in models. Why not have no slider unless the text overlaps the size of the text box?

Is this problem specific to annotation blocks? If so, that's a known bug that I think was introduced in R2022b. It's on our radar to fix that bug, but I can't say when exactly. And it pains me to say that I don't know of any workaround for this either. I think it's horribly ugly, too.
If you're seeing this with something besides an annotation block, then it might be a bug we haven't heard about. If that's the case, please reach out with more info.
In any case, thanks for reporting this. Even if this is the bug we know about, your feedback helps us better prioritize the fix.

I can confirm, I have same issues with the sliders.
Here the 'Auto Resize' is set to 'true'
and here 'off'
In both cases the sliders are visible.
It gets weirder, once saved after setting 'Auto Resize' to 'true' - if you reopen you will get this:
It is reproducible.

Arthur,
Thanks for your note, and thanks for your calm and civil answer to my rather excited question. Must not have gotten my Wheaties that day, which doesn't excuse impertinence. I apologize.
Not sure why a slider is needed for a text box, but if it is it would be really cool to have a tic box to turn it off. Essential if one changes an element that affects look and feel - I should be able to get back to the diagram I spent so much time on.
Often, one just wants to have a label.
Best,
Jim
