axes object properties for 3D volumes?

I'm searching for a possibility to get x,y,z Axes into the volumeviewer or volshow display.
But if I understand the documentation right there are no such properties for 3D volumes, is that right???
I can't believe that.
I have for example a 256x256x80 double (getting out of cat(3,MAPcellarray{1,1:N_files}) command)
If I load this volume to the Volume Viewer I get exactly what I want, but without the possibility to control axes and axes-labeling
as I know it from for example a plot object ...
I can't find somthing like that in:
and many diffrent posts in the forum.
Perhaps I use not the right vocabulary or have overseen something.
Is there anyone out there who can help me or give me a hint?
Or did I have to use a other volume-format-object, which I don't know right now ???

Thanks a lot for this hint.
Its not clear for me how it works in detail, but I get my data in and can control some things at the axes in a first look to that. I will try several things and will come back to you for discussion ;-)
But no panic could be take some more time (weeks or months) ...
The juiciest point fore me is to understand the diferences to the "volume viewer app" which is nice for my usecase but without axes!
