How we can improve the performance of PID controller in simulink?

I am stuck in middle of my simulation work as the PID i am using is weak. I want to improve the performance of PID. I want to know that how can i achieve it?

Do you have Simulink Control Design (SCD) installed? One of the things it provides is the PID Tuner.

(Assuming you have SCD) To access the PID Tuner, you can double-click a PID Controller block and hit the Tune button.
