Changing the Sample Time of a C-MEX s-function block in time simulation

I would like to change the SampleTime of a C-MEX Function Block in time simulation, I've read that it is impossible. I'm trying to find a workaround for this feature using a C-MEX async interrupt block. If I do that, is it possible to recalculate and update the C-MEX async block in simulation time?

Are you using a variable-step solver? If yes, you may find the Variable Sample Time C-MEX S-function example useful.
