Parameter Estimations for PEM Fuel Cell Model

The fuell cell model must use some numerical approximation method which uses values taken off the polarisation curve to determine certain parameters such as the 'Charge Transfer Coefficient', water molecules to charge site ratio, an amplification constant, mass transport constant... I was wondering if anyone could shed some light as to what method(s) are used?
