how to read projected image into matlab

I have MODIS time series 23 images for particular tile.i want to do time series analysis using this images.But this images are with GEOGRAPHIC re projection(not the square shape images),how to read this images into matlab, eliminating NaN values.How to do the time series image analysis in matlab.please help me.thanks!
