Different colors on tickmarks and axes labels?

I would like to have an image with different colored ticks, ticklabels, and axis labels. Specifically, I would like black axis labels and ticklabels, but white tick marks. Is there some method of accomplishing this?

First, convert the tick labels to text, using one of these utilities:

Now the tick label and the ticks/axis labels are no longer tied together so they can be different colors.
