Can I upgrade from R2013a to R2013b?

Now that R2013b has been recently released, I was wondering if I can upgrade my R2013a copy without the need to pay full student price again. It has been just a couple of months (2-3) since I purchased my student version.

I am simply asking if the upgrades are free, I don't want to download the software and find out that my license/key only works with the version that it was purchased with at the time.

Student versions do not have an upgrade option and there was not a student version released for R2013b.

Your university might have R2013b available on its lab machines, however. If not, you could talk to the IT department and let them know you want it on at least one machine.
