External Angular Velocity Source (AB)

R2026b

Ideal source of mechanical energy that generates angular velocity proportional to the input signal

Since R2026a

  • External Angular Velocity Source (AB) block

Libraries:
Simscape / Foundation Library / Rotational / Sources

Description

The External Angular Velocity Source (AB) block represents an ideal external angular velocity source that maintains a specified angular velocity regardless of the load at the connected port.

Port R is an angle-based rotational conserving port. Specify the angular velocity at physical signal port S. A positive signal at port S applies a positive angular velocity on the network at port R.

The block logs the variable t, which represents the torque applied at port R to generate the specified velocity. A positive torque corresponds to acceleration in the positive direction. For more information, see Data Logging.

Input

Physical signal input port for the control signal that drives the source. A positive signal at this port applies a positive angular velocity on the network at port R.

Programmatic Use

Port: S

Conserving

expand all

Angle-based rotational conserving port that connects the block to the circuit and applies the external angular velocity to the physical network.

Programmatic Use

Port: R

Programmatic Use: Add Block

To add the block programmatically, use the add_block function with one of these library block paths as the source.

Example: add_block("fl_lib/Rotational/Sources/External Angular Velocity Source (AB)","myModel/myBlock",MakeNameUnique="on")
