MATLAB® software can tell you what products are installed, their versions, and other information about your license and platform. Have this information ready when you contact technical support.

Type of Information You WantTo Get the Information
Version and license for installed product

From the product, select Help > About Product Name.

Or use functions:

  • license — for the license number

  • version — for version numbers for MathWorks® products

MATLAB platform

In MATLAB, select Help > About MATLAB. The About MATLAB dialog box shows 32-bit or 64-bit.

arch value used to locate library files for the mex function and standalone applications

In MATLAB, select Help > About MATLAB. The About MATLAB dialog box shows the arch value, for example win64.

Or use the computer function.

Passcodes and licensesFrom any desktop tool, select Help > Licensing > Manage Licenses.
