MagNet provides a complete analysis and design tool for a wide range of electromagnetic systems. Its solvers provide software solutions for magnetostatic, time-harmonic, and time-varying magnetic fields found in and around specified current distributions, current-carrying conductors, and permanent magnets. MagNet also provides analysis of mechanical effects (friction, inertia, mass, springs, gravitation, etc.) on the movement of a component within a device.
MagNet is used by designers of devices such as electrical machines (induction motors, switched reluctance, brushless DC, etc.), actuators, levitation systems, magnetic bearings, loudspeakers, shakers, induction heaters, power transformers, PCB transformers and inductors, and any device with significant eddy currents. The link between MagNet and MATLAB is based on ActiveX, which makes it possible to pass information from one application to the other.
