# definite_integral

Definite integration of data (i.e. arrays) over the domain of the data.

## Syntax

I = definite_integral(x,y)

## Description

I = definite_integral(x,y) returns the definite integral, I, of a set of data, vs. (which are stored in y and x), over the domain of the data.

• This function is intended as a simple demonstration of definite integration.
• definite_integral is essentially equivalent to trapz for the univariate case, but unlike trapz, it cannot be used to numerically integrate multivariate functions.

• See "EXAMPLES.mlx" or the "Examples" tab on the File Exchange page for examples.
