Obtain model version information in embedded application

I am trying to get the version information of a model during compile time (using embedded coder) and get_param('model','ModelVersion') gives me an error stating it's unrecognized for use with coder. Is there another method to obtaining this information without hard coding a variable in the data dictionary?
