Formatted Printing from GUI

I am working on a GUI that takes user inputs and formats them to be printed. I have inserted a "Print" function in the toolbar. However, this prints the image of the GUI as is. What I want is to print the formatted text instead of the image. Is there a way I can access the default print dialog box of my laptop to choose the printer that I want to send the text to?

You may want to try the printpreview option.
