How to move a point on x-axis

i have a point at x = 0; and y = 0;

my x axis is from 0 to 40 and y-axis is from 0 to 20.

i want to move a point along the x-axis by a factor of 1.

Try the following, and modify is needed:

   close all 
   axis ([0  20  0  40])
   hold
   for x=0:20
      plot(x,0,'ro')
      pause(0.1); % change (0.1) to larger values to have a slower animation
      cla
   end
