BCH decoding algorithm in comm.BCHDecoder

Hi,

Can someone please tell me the name of the decoding algorithm that is used by the comm.BCHDecoder object? In particular I am interested in the method for detecting the number of erasures. How can I find out how many erasures a particular instance of this object can detect?
