FIR and IIR EEG signal

Hi everyoby .

I am a new student studing Computer Science, also new to matlab. I have a homework to download a eeg signal, show it graphically(plot), and filter it using IIR and IFR.

I downloaded the signal, and use the plot to show graphically, but i don;t how to filter it. Could someone show me how to filter it . I saw examples on inter giving diferent numbers and values, but I don;t have number(the profesor didn;t give me numbers to use) just the signal.
