I'm using fminsearch to find the minimum of a 2 variable problem ... I would like the search to be at least in the range of 0.3 to 2 .. however, the algorithm performs search only on values ​​close to the initial .. (0.3 , 0.31 ...) How can I improve this condition?

Hi,

Set tolerances in optimset and include in in your fminsearch(..., ..., OPTsN) :

OPTs = optimset('TolFun', 1e-15);
OPTsN = optimset(OPTs, 'TolX', 1e-9);
fminsearch(..., ..., OPTsN);
