Hello.
I am activating Matlab R2019a in ubuntu. When I use my user ID in ubuntu (the one that I have logged in to the ubuntu) to activate the product, all things go well. The licence is created and the Matlab runs. But, there are so many errors from the biginning appearing in the screen because my user is an "administrator", not a supreuser as root. So, Matlab can not change or write on some specific files which it needs. Errors usually apear in red in my command window in Matlab.
So, I decided to activate the product for the "root" instead of my personal user. In this case, Matlab activation app does not produce the licence, although I use the commands sudo or gksu ... .
This is the error that I receive when I do it:
License Manager Error -9
Your username does not match the username in the license file.
To run on this computer, you must run the Activation client to reactivate your license.
Troubleshoot this issue by visiting:
https://www.mathworks.com/support/lme/R2019a/9
Diagnostic Information:
Feature: MATLAB
License path: /home/kamal/.matlab/R2019a_licenses:/usr/local/MATLAB/R2019a/licenses/license.dat:/usr/local/MATLAB/
R2019a/licenses/license_kamal-Inspiron-N4050_40523081_R2019a.lic
Licensing error: -9,57.
My question is why Mathworks does not generate licence for the root? Or how can I resolve the errors which I receive when I activate and run as my user, not the root?
