Orion HD (OHD1G2S) Stereo Image Synchronous Acquisition Supported in Image Acq. Toolbox?

Hi,

I am looking to buy a setup for synchronous stereo image acquisition from two HD SDI video inputs. I am looking to buy Matrox Orion HD (OHD1G2S) framegrabber to use with MATLAB's Image Acquisition Toolbox. The framegrabber supports simultaneous acquisition from SDI input lines.

My question is: Will I be able to acquire images synchronously using this framegrabber and MATLAB's Image Acquisition toolbox? There is a driver available for Matrox framegrabbers in the repository of drivers available for Image Acquisition toolbox, but I am not sure if this framegrabber is supported. If it is, then how do I go about acquiring stereo images in synchrony? Does the Image Acq. toolbox support this?

Hi SK,

As per the following link, if the Matrox Orion HD framegrabber is supported by any of the supported MIL or MIL-Lite(Matrox Imaging Library) then it is also supported by Image Acquisition Toolbox.

Matrox Frame Grabber Support

The supported MIL versions are:

• MIL or MIL-Lite 7.x
• MIL or MIL-Lite 8.x
• MIL or MIL-Lite 9.x
• MIL or MIL-Lite 10.x (only for matroxcam interface)

As per link below, Matrox Orion HD frame grabber can be used with MIL 9 Update 66 (Windows 7), so it should work fine with Image Acquisition Toolbox as well.

Also, to use it with Image Acquisition Toolbox you will need to install the support package for Matrox frame grabber which is available on the "Matrox Frame Grabber Support" link above.
