How to install matlab 2012b 32-bit on a 64-bit windows 8 machine?

I have matlab 2015a 64-bit installed, but I have a software package that will only work with an older, 32-bit version of MATLAB (2012b). I have downloaded the installer and the installer initiates, but just stops working after the installer downloads the necessary components. Why is this happening and what can I do to get 2012b 32-bit installed?
