Is it possible to create an app in App Designer to pilot a target other than a speedgoat target computer?

I've created an app in App Designer to pilot a test bench through a speedgoat target computer. I've managed to have everything working right. This year I'm tackling different targets and focussing on smaller targets as the launchpadXL F28379D. The documentation and examples I've found focus on the use of a speedgoat target machine. So, my questions are :

• Is it possible to create and app in App Designer that uses a target other than a speedgoat?
• If so, how?
• Is it applicable to a launchpadXL F28379D?

App Designer is just a GUI interface around MATLAB code. If you can do whatever you want with MATLAB, there should be no fundamental reason cannot then package a UI for it with App Designer.

Limitiations could arise if it were desired to create a standalone app on whether all the particular pieces are supported for compilation.
