Community Preferred Solutions in Cody

Everytime I vote for one preferred solution, Community Preferred Solutions marks the two options as preferred.
Is possible that the buttom does not work well in my interface? How can I fix it?
Thank you in advance.

Hey Luisa, I am able to vote for solutions across multiple problems.
A few things to check -
  • After casting a vote, does a big green tick sign with caption "Thanks for voting!" come up?
  • Are you facing this issue on some problems, or many problems?
Though, just to note - For a split second after voting, both the options are greyed out.
And, for starters, I would suggest some typical browser troubleshooting steps -
  • Try the same in a different browser
  • Clear your browser cache and cookies
  • Sign out of your MathWorks Account and then sign back in

The problem is whenever I vote, I only can cancel before to view the Community Preferred Solutions. After viewing Community Preferred Solutions and seeing that they are both marked instead of one only, I cannot cancel anymore.
@Dyuman Joshi, thank you.
Yes, I always check: After casting a vote, the big green tick sign with caption "Thanks for voting!" comes up.
Yes, I usually use different browsers, I usually clear browser caches and cookies, and I usually sign out of my account and sign back in.
Yes, I am facing a same kind of this issue with the "save" buttom in the page "Create a problem". By the way, @Cody Team, please take care of @Christian Schröder's request in Problem 61071.

@Arunika @Vanessa Wang @Eera Thatte - I couldn't reproduce this issue. Could you please check into it?
@Luisa - I have replied to Christian's comment on Problem 61071 on Cody. You can check my response there.

Thanks, @Dyuman Joshi! And thanks @Luisa for raising awareness of the issue I noted there.

Thank you, @Dyuman Joshi.
My suggestions are
  • either to allow a preview of how we are voting;
  • or to allow cancellation after viewing the Community Preferred Solutions.
Thank you in advance.

Hi @Luisa, I am sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with the solution voting feature in Cody. To clarify, are you seeing two instances of the "Thanks for voting!" message appear for both options when you vote for one solution? Where do you see that two options are marked as preferred? In our data, I can see that you are submitting one vote at a time so your selected vote is being recorded properly.
Could you also elaborate on the save button issue you're experiencing on the Create Problem page?

Thank you, @Vanessa Wang.
No, I am only seeing the instance of the "Thanks for voting!" message, with the green ok, appearing in my option.
For instance, in Problem 61074, I voted in two prefered solutions and I see 4 in Community Preferred Solutions. Indeed, I saw them right after voting.
About the save button issue on the Create Problem page: First time in Problem 61071, where I thought I forgot to save.
But, now I am sure that I am saving and I receive the message "Draft saved successfully!". Then, when I review it to see if everything is correct, I find errors in places where I had already corrected them.
Since I like to leave my problems for first solvers, so I only check before publishing. Although I use to save continuously my work, may you make possible to give an alert of unsaved work whenever we want either to publish a problem or to leave the page "Create a problem" as a draft?
Thank you in advance.

Hi @Luisa, thanks for the info.
For the solution voting feature, it is expected behavior that all four voting options will display in the community preferred solutions page even though two votes were only submitted. A vote is considered as a comparison between two options so the "less preferred" solutions will still display in the list since they have been technically rated in some way. However, I understand that this behavior is confusing especially for problems that do not have many voted solutions to push down the unselected options, so I have logged an enhancement internally to identify how we can improve this workflow.
For the save problem behavior, unfortunately I could not reproduce the issue where the save button does not save the most recent changes. However, it sounds like the overall workflow could be improved with your suggestion of having an alert before navigating away from unsaved changes since we do not have one currently. I have logged this enhancement as well.
Thank you for contributing to Cody!
