Why my OCR results are not accurate?

Hi,

I used OCR function to read the ID in my bmp file. But it is not accurate. It shows '17D31fl*'. Something not right.

How can I increase the accuracy of OCR results?

ocr requires that the letters be at least 20 pixels high. I don't think yours are. You should try to increase the resolution of the letters. Like get closer with your camera, zoom in, or use a higher megapixel camera sensor.

You could try imresize, but the underlying resolution will still be poor so the results might not be more accurate.
