Matlab and arduino how to read the state from Arduino

Hi , I'm trying to etablish a link between my arduino and my matlab .Indeed I'm creating a GUI for a submarine and I'm trying to read the state of a numeric entry on my arduino to make a square in my GUI changes color but how can I read this numeric entry ?

Thanks for asking, Evrard. Are you using MATLAB Support Package for Arduino (aka ArduinoIO Package)?

Yeah but I managed to solve it by myself . But now I've got an other problem with this package. I'm trying to read the data from my arduino in real time or sort of real time and update my GUI with this data .For example I would change the color of a text in terms of the data .Do you have an idea ?
