Analyze Variant Configurations in Models Containing Variant Blocks

A variant model can have single or multiple variant configuration associated with it. You can use the Analyze option in the Variant Manager to compare different variant configurations for a model. Additionally, you can also get information on model references and libraries used for a particular variant configuration. For information on getting information on model references and libraries, see Simulink.VariantConfigurationAnalysis.

To analyze variant configurations, perform these steps:

  1. Open the model containing variant blocks. For example, Variant Management .

  2. Right-click the variant badge and select Open in Variant Manager. The Variant Manager opens displaying the predefined configurations.

  3. Click Analyze. The Variant Configuration Analysis dialog box opens and displays the associated variant configuration.

  4. Select the required Variant Configurations. For example, LinInterExpNoNoise, LinInterExpWithNoise, and LinInterStd.

  5. Click Analyze. The report for analyzed variant configurations opens.

The controls on the Variant Configuration Analysis window allows you to perform the following actions:

  • Search blocks .

  • Filter the results to selectively display blocks.

  • Selectively display analyzed blocks.

View blocks

Selectively display blocks in the Variant Analysis window:

  • Select Variant to display all variant blocks in the model.

  • Select Hierarchical to display all hierarchical blocks (for example, Subsystem, Model blocks) in the model.

  • Select All blocks to display all blocks in the model.

Block activeness

Selectively display blocks in the Variant Configuration Analysis window:

  • Select Always active to display blocks that are always active in the model.

  • Select Partially active to display blocks that are active in some configurations and inactive in others amongst the selected configurations.

  • Select Never active to display blocks which are never active in the model.

Annotation

View the variant conditions associated with the block. Click on the required annotation to view the block which has the selected annotation.
