Intern Industrial Automation Market Segment Analysis (f/m/d)
Simulation and Artificial Intelligence are playing an increasingly important role in the industrial world. Tools such as MATLAB and Simulink from MathWorks support engineers in developing innovative solutions and using them in practice.
MathWorks is seeking an intern (eg MBA industrial placement, or similar) to develop a consolidated business analysis of the "Industrial Automation & Machinery" (IA&M) market and its segments (including power generation equipment vendors, machine builders, electric drive suppliers, etc.) as a basis for further refinement of the current segmentation. The primary focus is on the German and Austrian IA&M market, in a second step the developed methodology should be applied to other locations.
Market analysis of the IA&M industry and its segments:
Identify key attributes (e.g. Total Addressable Market, Serviceable Addressable Market, R&D spend, etc.) and lead companies in each industry segment
Find and correlate data from external data sources (e.g. annual reports) with internally available data (e.g. MATLAB install base)
Develop reusable metrics for benchmarking adoption at accounts in each segment
Developing recommendations for MathWorks strategy for the IA&M industry segmentation, and presentation to internal stakeholders in coordination with the IA&M Industry Marketing team.
- Candidates must be pursuing an MBA.
- Prior experience or good understanding in the area of Industrial Automation & Machinery (with energy generation and transmission equipment, production equipment, automation components, etc.)
- BS or higher degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Electical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering, etc.)
- Knowledge of MathWorks products
- Experience in market research and analysis, and go-to-market strategy development would be beneficial
- Spoken and written German
