Senior Sales Account Manager Cross Industry Sales (f/m/d)

Job Summary

As a senior sales account manager (f/m), you will sell engineering and scientific software as well as related services such as consulting and product training to new and existing customers. You will manage the entire sales process including prospecting for new potential, opportunity qualification, generation and progression, proof-of-concept delivery, value justification, and closure. The sales process will include the appropriate use of technical resources, working closely with Inside Sales to prioritise inbound leads.

  • Gain an in-depth understanding of the current and future potential of the territory. Develop and implement short and medium term territory plans to realise this potential.
  • Work closely with prospects and existing customers to understand critical business issues and develop the vision of the capabilities required to address these.

  • Develop key accounts within the territory to generate significant and sustainable revenue.

  • Prospect for new business opportunities.

  • Gain access to the appropriate decision makers and manage evaluation processes in order to pursue business opportunities through to a successful conclusion.

  • Work closely with Inside Sales to prioritise inbound leads.

  • Maintain comprehensive contact, lead and opportunity details in Salesforce.  An organised and thoughtful approach to this task will be required.

  • Make the best use of all available resources and expertise in the achievement of the company’s objectives.  Working within a team is key.

  • Attain annual revenue targets by:

    • Identifying key decision makers/Influencers
    • Preparing and implement sales territory/account plans, including activity reports and forecasts
    • Achievement of annual sales goals for product sales and services

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 7 years of professional work experience is required.

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or University degree or higher in an engineering, science, or business discipline
  • 3+ years of direct sales experience, preferably selling technology products and services
  • Demonstrated success managing a territory and using a CRM system
  • Proven success in developing new markets and delivering new business
  • Proven record of accomplishment and over-achievement of performance objectives
  • Experience in working with application engineers and sales support resources
  • Self-driven personality; high energy level
  • Experience in balancing volume and strategic sales
  • German and English fluency are required
