Sales Account Manager for Industrial Automation & Machinery

Job Summary

As Sales Account Manager you will sell engineering and scientific software and related services such as consulting and product training to a set of named accounts in the Industrial Automation and Machinery industry. Responsibilities will include developing relationships at existing accounts as well as identifying and developing new business. You will work closely with local and international marketing teams and technical experts to bring the full range of MathWorks product and service offerings to your accounts. If you have experience selling complex software solutions, preferably into the Industrial Automation and Machinery sector or industries with comparable trends and challenges, this could be an exciting next step in your career. Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain working relationships with users, senior managers and executives within the territory accounts

  • Rigorously prioritize and follow up on all qualified leads provided by Marketing or Sales Support; energetically prospect for new business opportunities within a defined set of named accounts

  • Collaborate closely with Inside Sales, Application Engineering, Technical Marketing, Professional Services and peer sales teams

  • Attain monthly/quarterly/annual sales goals for new software licenses, maintenance service, and professional services (consulting and product training)

  • Gain in depth understanding of the current and future needs of your named accounts; develop and implement medium and long-term account plans to realize the potential

  • Expand MathWorks market presence and reputation within the industry

  • Utilize supporting sales tools such as Salesforce and Altify to plan, document and share your strategies and activities

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 3 years of professional work experience is required.

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering, science, or business discipline

  • 3+ years direct sales experience

  • Evidence of success in selling complex software solutions to all levels in an organization

  • Self-driven personality; high energy level

  • Demonstrated experience to sell in teams, both on national and international level

  • Demonstrated success managing a territory and using a CRM system

  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic account plans for large and complex accounts.

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills (German and English)

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Software sales experience into the Industrial Automation & Machinery Industry or an industry with comparable trends and challenges

  • Ability to travel 25% to 50% of the time

  • Candidate for this position must hold a valid work permit in Germany
